Discover the IN JOY Fine Art gallery with Marine Schmitt

Can you tell us about the mission and history of IN JOY Gallery?

The IN JOY name has been around in Luxembourg since 2019, when we opened two pop-ups, one at the Cloche d'Or, which was quite unique in Europe, and the other on Rue Aldringen. We very quickly made a name for ourselves, and we wanted to expand, to work with new contemporary artists while retaining those with whom we had already collaborated. That's how we found this magnificent 300 m² space dedicated to contemporary art, which has been here since 2021, where we have the chance to meet collectors from all over the world.

Comment vous démarquez-vous des autres galeries ?

We place a great deal of importance on offering everyone who enters here a pleasant experience. We work a lot on format, links and images, thinking about the thread that runs through each of our exhibitions in order to tell the public a story. Our concept is that art should be open to everyone, and some of our exhibiting artists, such as Cédric Bouteiller, want to create works at a lower cost to make their art affordable to as many people as possible. That's really what's important to us, seeing that our gallery can reach out to children through colour and comics, as well as to major collectors. I really enjoy sharing my passion and talking to visitors about promoting art.

Comment fidélisez-vous vos clients ?

We attract a very diverse clientele that reflects what we offer. We offer a made-to-measure service, accompanying our collectors in their professional and personal projects, presenting them with works that correspond to their world and their desires, whether at home or at their place of work.

I also offer my skills as a decorator, because some people appreciate being guided in their choice. For me, the customer experience and after-sales service are major factors in building customer loyalty. We often create bonds of friendship with our customers and above all a relationship of trust, which is essential.

Finally, we regularly organise events to enable them to meet the artists directly, to exchange ideas and to share the special moments that unite us.

How do you go about installing art in your property?

We have tools that allow us to respond to requests, even from a distance. For example, with Photoshop, someone can send me photos of their interior, and I can place works of art virtually, according to what they're looking for, so that they have an idea of what it might look like in their home. My job is always to support and listen to our customers, without ever imposing my choices or favouring my tastes.
